Well Lauren and I went to Ute again on Thursday and while atemping to record a nice bike jump I totally messed up my FINAL attempt… and had a nice fall. Luckly it was caught on video… so without further wait… (Keep in mind I did land it once)

That resulted in 11 stitches.

Well This time we headed out on the southern most trail. We took that up (West) and took the ridge back down. We then headrd back up to Mt Herman Rd and took the always fun north side back to the parking lot. As the norm now we finished off with some tailgating. Since there was no Dale… we did capture a home brew picture just for you!

Well we rode the Falcon trail in just 2 hours. The sun was down and it was getting dark when we rolled back to the cars. No bike problems or accidents this ride. Wooohooo… what a fun ride!

The group went to Ute Valley Park. They even had time to Geocache and tailgate. Of course I took pictures, soo with out further ado.

Total miles: 6.77
Max speed: 27.0
Average speed: 7.0
Geocache discoveries: 1! (We treaded through rattlesnake territory, climbed a mountain, and braved the elements!!!)

Well there was a nice Play Park at the base. We all played around for a bit and “conquered.” We then rode though the park and it was a fun ride, although not very technical.
We then proceeded to tailgate party longer than we rode. Great Times!

You have heard the rumors… let’s see if they are true.
When we rode Limbaugh Canyon a while back we had to make a left and go over the ridge to the next canyon. Well Laurn has confirmed that there is another way out. Let’s see if he is all full of lies.

Instead of riding Limbaugh canyon again we will go up the road to the reservoirs, down the gully we rode up… and then ride on the new trail out.

Lets ride this Thursday…. Tires down 5:15

Directions:
I-25 to Monument Exit (West on Highway 105)
Stay on Highway 105 towards Palmer Lake 3.3 mi
Turn LEFT (West) onto S Valley Rd
Turn LEFT (South) onto Old Carriage Rd
Parking lot at bottom

We rode Palmer Park. I had been there a lot a long time ago but Palmer Park proved that you need to know the place to know where to ride. Although there were a lot a stops to determine where to go, it was a fun ride and we ended up with a tailgate party after the ride (I sense a trend here)

7 of us rode Captain Jacks. There was a lot of uphill, but the ride down was great. Just a few minor injuries this week. The ride was just under 2 hours. We ended the ride at Front Range BBQ!

A Map of the trail from singletracks.com is here.

Well I was out helping family care for my mother-in-law so I missed this ride. I heard it was a short sweet ride followed by a tailgate party :)

We rode Limbaugh Canyon behind mount Herman. I think that it may have been the fastest that we have ridden it before. There were six of us that made the long ride up Mt Herman road and 5 ½ of us that made it back out of the canyon. Jim received some wounds from several nice falls, Jason took a nice digger off a deserving root drop-off and Dale took off so hard he landed on his back?!?! We finished off the night at O’Malley’s in Palmer Lake. Once about 3/4 of the way down the canyon you will need to take the trail to the left (The trail is closed further down). Once you turn you hike-a-bike up the hill or follow another trail off to the left that will take you to the road above the Palmer Lake reservoirs.

Directions:
Take I-25 North to the Monument (Highway 105) exit.
Turn left and head west. Once you cross the interstate you will hit a light.
Continue straight (you will now be on 2nd St.) Continue through town and once you cross the railroad tracks, turn left (south) on Mitchell Ave.
Turn right on Mt. Herman Rd. Follow that for a few miles (You will pass the Mt Herman fire trails) and turn right on Red Rocks Dr.
There is a parking area just to your right.
